Harvy will speak to the Follen Community’s Retired Men’s Group about the creation and development of his debut book. He will cover why he wrote his book, how he wrote it, and how long it took to tell his complex story of his growing up with his father’s financial finagling and his immigrant family’s successes and misfortunes. Time and location: January 10, 2018, 10:15-11:30AM at the Follen’s community center library.

Harvy and his book are well displayed at the Independent Publishers of New England booth at the ARIA Book Fair in Providence, RI.
As a result of launching his tumultuous, tell-all, family-business tale this fall, Harvy Simkovits has been able to donate a total of $1500 to Jane Doe Inc. and the UU Urban Ministry this year in their efforts to help victims of domestic abuse and violence. Harvy will continue to donate half the gross profit from book sales to these organizations to support their good and important work. Friends, family, and fellow writers gathered at historic Lexington Depot to support the launch of Harvy Simkovits’s first memoir “Just Lassen to Me!” In attendance were Minister Mary Margaret Earl from the Urban Ministry and Toni Troop from Jane Doe, both non-profits to receive 50% of the profits from Harvy’s book sales.
With great enthusiasm, Christine Dean, Community Center Director, receives a copy of “Just Lassen to Me!” for its community library.
